This 6-day Uganda Primate Safari offers an incredible journey through Uganda’s lush forests, allowing you to explore the country's most famous primate habitats. Your adventure begins with a trip to Kibale Forest National Park, known as the primate capital of the world, where you’ll track chimpanzees and observe other primate species in their natural environment. Kibale is home to 13 primate species, including red colobus monkeys, L'Hoest’s monkeys, and grey-cheeked mangabeys.

Next, you’ll visit Kanyanchu for a thrilling chimpanzee tracking experience, followed by an exploration of the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary. The wetland offers a diverse ecosystem where you can spot numerous bird species, butterflies, and even more primates, making it a haven for nature lovers and bird watchers.

The final leg of your safari takes you to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, where you’ll trek to encounter one of the habituated families of mountain gorillas. Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your safari guide. You’ll then be transferred to your hotel in Entebbe where you can relax and refresh after your journey. Activity: Free time to explore Entebbe or relax at the hotel.
Day 2: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
After breakfast, embark on a scenic 6-hour drive to Kibale Forest National Park, the "Primate Capital of the World." Along the way, you’ll pass through Uganda’s beautiful landscapes, including tea plantations and rural villages. Arrive at your lodge in Kibale, relax, and prepare for the adventure ahead. Activity: Optional evening nature walk around the lodge or in the nearby community.
Day 3: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kanyanchu & Bigodi Wetland
Early in the morning, head to Kanyanchu for an exciting chimpanzee tracking experience. Kibale is home to over 1,500 chimpanzees, and you’ll enjoy a chance to observe them up close in their natural habitat. After lunch, take a guided nature walk in Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, famous for its rich biodiversity, including primates, birds, and butterflies. Activity: Morning chimpanzee tracking, afternoon Bigodi Wetland walk.
Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
After breakfast, depart Kibale for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a 7-hour drive filled with captivating scenery and picturesque landscapes. Arrive at your lodge in the late afternoon and relax ahead of your gorilla trekking experience. Activity: Scenic drive with optional stops for photos along the way.
Day 5: Gorilla Trekking in Bwind
After an early breakfast, head to Bwindi park headquarters for a briefing before embarking on your thrilling gorilla trek. Hike through the dense rainforest to encounter a family of endangered mountain gorillas, an unforgettable wildlife experience. Spend one magical hour observing these gentle giants before returning to your lodge for relaxation. Activity: Gorilla trekking, afternoon relaxation at the lodge
Day 6: Return to Entebbe
Early in the morning, begin your return journey to Entebbe, where you’ll either be dropped off at the airport for your departure flight or at your hotel. Activity: Scenic drive with optional stops for souvenirs or photography. End of Tour.
